Taking up Irish dancing as a child, has given Amelia the quick hands and quick feet necessary to be an international goalkeeper.
An outstanding effort in the National Hockey League in 2009, saw her selected for the national squad with the coaches impressed with her ability to read the game and close down attackers.
Amelia is a student in Christchurch and has been the New Zealand under-21 goalkeeper for the past few years.
