NEW FIH WORLD HOCKEY YOUTH SITE AND FACEBOOK GROUP
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has developed two new internet initiatives for Youth hockey players. The first is a new website designed by Youth for Youth.
On this website you will find information on the FIH Youth Panel and on FIH Youth Projects, such as the WorldHockey Youth Challenge.
Beside information about projects, programmes and events there will also be a news section, with updates from youth projects in the FIH member countries. Interactive sections such as” Talk to us” and “Pen Pals” will make the website a meeting point for young hockey developers. The YouTube section will add visual proof of what’s going on in the youth hockey world.
A unique point of the website is that it will be run by members of the FIH Youth Panel, all young hockey leaders. It will give all hockey nations, including the developing ones, a platform and the opportunity to be part of the global hockey family. It will also give youth a voice, a message which the FIH has promoted for a long time.
The website can be accessed directly via www.worldhockey.org/youth or by clicking on the WorldHockey Youth banner on www.worldhockey.org
The second new initiative is using the networking site Facebook. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has opened its own space on Facebook, the WorldHockey Group. All hockey fans that are registered on Facebook are able to join this group.
Almost 700 members are already registered. The WorldHockey Group can be accessed directly by clicking here. Suggestions can be e-mailed to: facebook@worldhockey.org
The opening of the Facebook page of the FIH is the first in a series of new features of the FIH. In the next couple of weeks, a FIH Blog will be opened.
We will continually update the Coaching Section with drills and downloadable resources, links to your Regional Development Managers, and course information.
