BIO:
 Dean is a vastly experienced and highly regarded defender who has nearly 250 caps for his country. He was appointed captain in November 2011 prior to the Champions Trophy in Auckland.

Dean leads the organisation of the team’s defence, and his awareness, vision and ability to deliver precision passes to players on the run make him one of the best in the business.

London will be Dean’s third Olympics and he rates the silver medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games as one of his career highs.

Originally from Christchurch, he is married and works in banking in Auckland.
