Like many talented New Zealand sportspeople, Melody moved to Australia as a youngster and has now returned to represent her country of birth.

The mature midfielder has been playing for the Adelaide Suns in the Australian Hockey League and in 2011 she captained the side to the national title with the help of Black Sticks team-mates Clarissa Eshuis and Kayla Sharland.

Melody is a tough, hard-working player with good ball skills. She is married and works in sales for a radio network.
