Joel is an attacking midfielder or striker with strong ball carrying and elimination skills. The highlight of his career so far is scoring the winning goal against Germany in the playoff for third at the Punjab Gold Cup in India in 2009.

Joel, who has more than 30 caps for his country, lives in Wellington where he is a landscaper.
