Players will be expected to cover all of the associated costs including the entry fee. Please advise Graham Jackson (graham@hockeynz.co.nz) no later than 6th February 2010 if you are interested.
The Masters Council remains committed to Trans Tasman (May - Newcastle, Australia).

Men's 35+ Division to be Introduced to National Masters Tournament 2010.
As a result of popular demand, the Hockey New Zealand Masters Council has resolved to introduce a new age-division at National Masters Tournament, commencing at the Nelson tournament, March 2010 - Men's 35+
The Council is excited about the possibilities the inclusion of this age group brings to Tournament: it aligns with the Women's 35+ age-division; caters for an age group that has not been directly targeted for the chance to play representative hockey until now; and has possibilities for competition at an international level (Australia is introducing the division to their masters hockey).
Entry for teams will differ from other age divisions in that the teams will be regionally-based, along NHL-aligned geographical boundaries. This means a maximum of 8 teams.
Notice is given now to enable associations to communicate with players in this demographic with the aim of delivering a level of hockey that has not been available to them previously. Entries will formally be called for late October 2009.
Congratulations to the New Zealand Men's Masters 40+ team who won the Masters division at the International Masters Hockey Tournament. The tournament, played in Hong Kong over the last 9 days, finished on Saturday 31 October. Apart from a draw against Australia, the team went unbeaten for the rest of the tournament. The NZ Men's 50+ team, competing in the Senior Masters division of the same tournament, finished 3rd equal. The NZ Masters Council is thrilled with their results; well done to both teams.
