Interim men’s trainings squads announced

Hockey NZ is pleased to announce the following players have been selected in interim squads for training through to the end of the year. An interim national men’s training squad comprising 23 players has been named while a further 28 players have been named to train in three regional extended squads based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Of major interest in the interim national men’s squad is the inclusion of North Harbour youngsters Shay Neal and David Green – both new to the national squad. Joel Baker of Wellington and Nick Haig of Canterbury have also forced their way back into the squad with strong performances in the recent NHL.

Hockey NZ will confirm the 2009 Black Sticks squad at the completion of its current High Performance Review and once talks with SPARC are complete – likely to be in mid December 2008.
