Coaching Opportunity - Saffron Hockey Club (UK)

...are looking to recruit a Resident Tutor and hockey specialist from August 2012.

Friends’ School is a co-educational Quaker day and boarding school for children aged 3 – 18. The school is looking to recruit a resident member of staff to assist within the PE department and take part responsibility for pupils within a boarding house.

This position could be combined with the role of player/coach or coach/manager at Saffron Walden Hockey Club, with particular responsibility for the Ladies section. The Ladies 1st XI have recently been promoted to the East of England Premier League. 

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

• Previous experience working with young people. Residential experience would be an advantage
• National/Premier league playing experience
• Recognised Hockey Coaching qualification equivalent to Level 2
• Fluency in English and excellent interpersonal/communication skills
• Ability to work with varying ages and to act as a good ambassador for the School and the Club.
• Full current driving licence

The role will involve 2 evening duties and weekend duties on rota with some curriculum input at the School and up to 5 hours per week as player/coach or coach/manager  with the Ladies section, contributing to the coaching of the juniors section where possible.

This position, which is ideally suited to a graduate who has recently played top level hockey and wishes to gain coaching/work experience whilst continuing to play at a competitive standard, is available initially for 1 year, from August 2012.  The salary will include single accommodation, bills and food provided during term time.

Player Opportunity - Southern Skies Tournament - Brisbane, Australia (2-6 July, 2012)

The 15th annual Southern Skies Tournament is hosting competitions in Rugby, Netball, Boys and Girls Football and Girls Hockey.

Player Opportunity Masters Hockey - World Vintage Hockey Carnival, 21-28 October 2012

This event is the 1st World Vintage Hockey Carnival which will be in Barbados from 21-28 October 2012. The carnival is a hockey tournament for hockey lovers over 35 years of age.
It will include four match days and rest days in between to enjoy tours and activities in Barbados.
