National Mentoring Programme

INTRODUCTION

The National Mentoring Programme has been set up to give umpires in the junior development pathway the opportunity to be mentored by NHL and international umpires.

The mentors will:

• Maintain and update contact details of junior umpires
• Provide coaching and tournament preparation advice
• Assist with goal setting and managing expectations
• Facilitate moves between cities and regions
• Analyse tournament reports and umpire logbooks
• Produce a regular newsletter
• Distribute news from the Hockey NZ office
• Appoint and promote umpires to tournaments
  
  The mentoring panel consists of six members who will have a main focus in a particular stage of the development pathway:
