Masters World Cup Continues Across Europe
The first phase of the 2026 Masters Hockey World Cup has wrapped up in Rotterdam and Schiedam, with New Zealand teams producing a number of strong performances across the 35s to 50s age groups.
Across the opening tournament, five of New Zealand's eight teams progressed through to the quarter-finals.
The standout result came from the Women's 35s, who advanced all the way to the gold medal match, laying everything out on the turf, narrowly going down 2-1 to England. While the result didn’t fall their way, the Masters 35s have done New Zealand proud and their silver medal performance capped off an outstanding tournament week, seeing them finish 2nd out of 16 teams.
Across every age group, New Zealand teams represented the country with pride and overall the week was one for the books!

The World Cup Journey Continues
Attention has now shifted to the second phase of the Masters Hockey World Cup, with tournaments underway in Brasschaat in Belgium and Breda in the Netherlands.
New Zealand has teams competing across multiple age groups, with pool play matches running through to mid-August before classification and medal matches begin.
