NZA China Tour match-ups released
Our New Zealand A women's team is set to depart this Saturday 17th May to China where they will compete in the West Taihu Lake Invitational. The tournament will feature a number of provincial Chinese teams and Korea A, promising a good level of competition.
The energy in the group is starting to build as departure day gets closer. For seasoned Midfielder Ella Hyatt Brown, it’s about the opportunity this trip brings.
“The tour is a great chance to get exposed to some higher-level hockey. It’s the perfect environment to showcase our abilities at a higher level than the Premier Hockey League (currently our most elite domestic league), pushing those who want to make it into the Black Sticks team.
We’ve got a great group of girls – a mix of exciting young talent – and then a few of us ladies who’ve been in the NZ environment for a few years now. We’re all pumped to put our best foot forward and hopefully win another tournament in what’s already been a successful 2025.”
With just a four-hour time difference, game times will be easy to follow for fans watching from New Zealand.
